This is Melisa’s very 1st Oven Luv’n episode back in 2005. She was only 11 years old at the time. And as you can see her little brother Antonio was helping her right from the very beginning. Please sit back and enjoy. And make these Greek snowball cookies they are AWESOME!
Kourabiethes
(Greek Snowball Cookies)
Ingredients
1 pound Butter
2 Heaping Tablespoons Confectioners’ Sugar
1 Cup Walnuts (crushed fine)
5 and 1/2 cups Sifted Cake Flour
2 pounds Confectioners Sugar
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2.Soften butter. Cream butter until thick whipped cream.
3.Add 2 tbls. sugar, all crushed walnuts, and sift in cake flour. Mix well. This will be a stiff dough.
4.Shape into “ping pong ball” size cookies, and place on cookie sheet, about 1 inch apart (they will not expand, they will keep their shape). Cook for 30-40 minutes.
5.Tape wax paper onto kitchen table.
6.Sift a heaping layer of confectioner sugar, covering the paper. While cookies are still hot, place cookies on top of sugar.
7.Sift a heavy layer of confectioner sugar all over the cookies to cover top, bottom, and all around. Let them cool in the sugar.
